EltaMD's UV Sheer Broad-Spectrum SPF 50+ provides powerful protection against UVA and UVB rays. Water and sweat-resistant, this advanced formula absorbs quickly into the skin hydrating and calming heated and red skin without leaving the face shiny or with a white cast. When applied, a sheen-like look appears then immediately dries down to a matte finish helping to even skin tone. Antioxidant protection combats skin-aging free radicals associated with ultraviolet, infrared radiation while offering high-energy visible (HEV) light protection.

Tip: UV Sheer does not require a special cleanser and can be easily removed by regular facial wash.
Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating, immediately after towel drying and at least every 2 hours. For use on children under 6 months, ask a physician.

Applies easily, looks nice
EltaMD is everywhere. It's sold at my esthetician's office. It is recommended by influencers on YouTube. And I get it. However, for me, it is such a tiny bottle at less than two ounces. And I live in Colorado, where we typically have 300 days of intense sun, so I am very generous with my sunscreen application, and do not want to have to ration it out. The bottle was accurately described, so that really comes down to me giving it a shot but the volume being so small. To me, that is just a lot of packaging without a lot of product, which is not kind to the environment.

Sheer for sure once it’s rubbed in. Omit doesn’t leave a white cast. I use on my face and neck. It’s a part of my every day routine!!

I really wanted to like this SPF since it was water resistant, it goes on very nicely with no white cast but pills over time both alone on top of skin care or under makeup. Might be better for those with oily skin than dry skin.

Nice sunscreen
This sunscreen is very fluid and nice to apply. I love that it is spf 50 and has vitamin c for extra boost of spf protection. Also love the 80 min waterproof which is hard to find in a facial sunscreen. This does not feel tacky on the skin. I do have to apply this little by little though because if you slather on too much at a time it takes so long to blend in. I do the three finger so I apply one finger at a time. The 3 finger method is to insure proper spf protection which is 1/4 teaspoon.

Love it!
This is my facial sunscreen for beach days or when I take my kids to the park. I love it because it goes on well and doesn’t leave a cast. It doesn’t sting my eyes like other sunscreens I have tried!

i prefer Elta MD's other sunscreens
I prefer the other Elta MD face sunscreens I tried (the ones that come in a pump bottle). This one felt a little sticky and I find that the stickiness doesn't really go away.

I was struggling to find a mineral sunscreen that didn't leave a white cast going on AND didn't leave white streaks when you sweat. I always put sunscreen on my 11 year old son, but many of his friends don't wear it, so he gets VERY self conscious about it. His friends would often ask him if he was wearing sunscreen, as if it was a really weird thing to do. After a number of fails, I was so happy to find this sunscreen! Finally, one that my son approves of, and that doesn't cause the other kids to ask him, "Are you wearing sunscreen?" And I love it for myself, as well!

minimal white cast
you have to really work this sunscreen into your face, like any zinc-based sunscreen, but I find it easier to rub it into my face compared to other sunscreens. this formula is great because it doesn't gather up and pill at all underneath other makeup products I use
