EltaMD's UV Restore Broad-Spectrum SPF 40 is a 100% physical sunscreen that helps to restore sun-damaged skin and offers high-energy visible (HEV) light protection. Ginger root extract and saccharide isomerate help to boost a healthy complexion by improving skin smoothness, minimizing dark spots and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Squalane restores the skin’s natural moisture and suppleness while antioxidants combat free radicals associated with ultraviolet (UV) and infrared radiation (IR).

Not for me
I really thought this elta md product with the various ingredients it has for fine lines and hydration, would work for my dry sensitive skin but I really didn’t like it. No matter how long I wait in between applying my moisturizer and this product, it ends up smearing across my face and looking dry with terrible white cast, and I’m super pale so you know it’s bad when you can see it and I look even paler. Will be returning and going back to UV clear.

I make sure to warm up the sunscreen in my palms and then spread it on my face so that I'm not rubbing so hard. It does seem to move on the face, because if you scratch your face there are white marks that come up.

Chalky and horrible
Elta MD’s UV Clear made my eyes burn, so I looked for an alternative from the brand. Y’all, this is not it. It makes my face so chalky and pallid that I look ill. The white cast is horrible, so forget about daily use. I’m trying to finish it up, but it’s taken me nearly a year because it starts to flake and almost get crusty after about 10 minutes on my face. I’m going to try a different Elta MD product next time, but this certainly missed the mark. Not sure what “restore” benefits I’m getting if I can barely stomach putting this stuff on my skin.

Goes on smooth and blends in clear
I love this sunscreen for everyday use. I try to exclusively wear physical sunscreen but often it can feel chalky and dry out my skin. This goes on very smooth and blends in nicely, and doesn't need to be covered up with makeup. That being said, it layers very nicely underneath makeup.
