EltaMD UV Pure Broad-Spectrum SPF 47 shields the skin from UVA and UVB damage during sun exposure. The gentle formula is quickly absorbed by the skin without leaving an oily residue and is water resistant for up to 80 minutes. Safe for sensitive skin conditions, including rosacea.

Doesn't make me break out
Really like this sunscreen for not making me breakout, which pretty much every other sunscreen does. Downside- really white cast even after rubbing it in. I'm paler than pale and it still shows white on me. It does also need to be applied frequently for effectiveness, but that's clearly stated in the directions so I can't fault it for that.

Gentle but drying
While this is by far the most gentle sunscreen I have ever used (I could actually use it around my eyes), after continued use it was just too drying for me. I tried putting moisturizer underneath it, but it still didn't work. This would be fine to use on your body, but there are less expensive options that would work just as well. I ended up returning this. Even though I have sensitive skin, I have never been able to use a completely physical sunscreen on my face. They are always too drying for me, maybe due to the higher levels of zinc oxide. Out of all the physical sunscreens I have tried on my face, this is the least drying though. I didn't mind the minimal white cast that this left. I have fair skin and it actually helped to cover some redness. It is a little bit difficult to remove, but I was able to do so with a gentle cleanser and cotton balls.

Great sunscreen for outdoors!
I love this sunscreen for summer in Texas! I use it mainly outdoors by the pool, on a long walk, or outdoor festivals (4th of July, etc.) It holds up well to sweat and pool water. I do re-apply as recommended on the sunscreen. But, it keeps my face free of sun exposure. It goes on very smoothly and I don't get that "white" ghosty look at all. My dermatologist recommended this to me and I use it every summer. It's a lifesaver for anyone with rosacea!

Love this product but should have been more careful in my reading and purchased the UV Clear for my face. It definitely leaves a trace of the white zinc color after it is rubbed in. Will absolutely continue to use, and purchase again, for my arms and legs.

Terrific Sunscreen and Good Value
This is a great sunscreen if you have sensitive skin. I have oily, acne-prone, sensitive skin and this sunscreen is the only one I know I can use without causing any problems. I appreciate the all-mineral UV filters in this sunscreen; it is much better for my skin than chemical filters which turn my face red and break out. This has a slight white cast but putting makeup on over it takes care of that problem. I double cleanse, so I never have problems removing it at night, and I would recommend that method of removing makeup/sunscreen first and then cleansing the skin for everyone, as well as anyone using sunscreen including this one. I like to purchase this and the UV Elements together, and layer the UV Elements over this one, as two thin layers of sunscreen work better for most people and the tint of UV Elements camouflages any white cast that may arise.

This is the most non chalky mineral body spf out there, I don't know how they do it! So easy to blend in and not white at all, it's so hard to find zero chemicals. I just wish the bottle was bigger!

Big No for Me
It feels like you are putting chalk on. Extremely drying. Yes it is white, however for me the white did go away after awhile when I wore the sunscreen alone. If you are putting it on your face you only need a very small dab or it feels like you are putting on a chalk face mask. Also forget trying to put makeup over it. I tried Dermablend Flawless drops to mix with it to counter the white it just made it look even more like I was putting on a white face mask. So it's ok for your body, your face only if you don't mind it drying out your skin and wearing solo. I will not be buying anymore EltaMD products it doesn't live up to the hype.
