EltaMD UV Pure Broad-Spectrum SPF 47 shields the skin from UVA and UVB damage during sun exposure. The gentle formula is quickly absorbed by the skin without leaving an oily residue and is water resistant for up to 80 minutes. Safe for sensitive skin conditions, including rosacea.

no white cast

White cast
I bought this because it's one of the few "pregnancy safe" mineral sunscreens close to spf 50. The texture is liquids and thins out enough not to feel heavy. It's easy to spread out onto the face and doesn't have a fragrance. The only pitfall is the white cast due to not being tinted. You really need to rub it in and it will still "brighten" your skin tone a notch. I have a tinted spf that's too dark and I've been mixing the two this summer. It's still a bit dark and warm for my skin but it's not too bad because it's summer and it looks like I've tanned. This product would be great for under makeup or to mix with other tinted products or makeup. Use your hands or a brush to apply. It's a little sacrifice I will make for a safe and high spf sunscreen.

My favorite
This is my favorite sunscreen that I have ever used. I have roseacea and it is so hard to find things that protect your skin without irritating it and this is it. I get great coverage without any damage.

Effective but odd smell
Spreads easily and is very effective. It does leave a very faint white cast but nothing too noticeable. . . I will say that it has a little bit of a funky smell - doesn’t dissuade me from using it (have yet to have a burn all summer), but it’s a little bizarre. Would still buy again though! Great product overall.

Sunscreen that's safe
I purchased this as a recommendation from my dermatologist. It goes on and rubs in easily. Protected my skin while on vacation. I think there are similar alternatives with a better price though.

Weird scent
I love Elta products and have been using them exclusively for a few years. This is the first time I chose this specific sunscreen from their line. It does work, but it has a weird scent when applying (it eventually fades). I have never noticed an odor with their products, so I wondered if mine is a bad batch? It also initially leaves a white cast, but I am able to rub that in and get it to fade. I do feel this sunscreen on my skin and it does require a little extra effort in the shower to remove it, but that is the same experience I have had with other Elta body sunscreens. I will continue to use Elta, but will check out other products within their line. I would still recommend, but it's just not for me.
