This is a miss

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I was so excited to hear of this new “glow” formula but this will be going back.  The formula is thick, blends with effort (think heavier zinc), but simply feels awful.  It feels oddly occlusive and tacky, a far cry from the UV clear formula that feels refreshing to skin.  I had hoped this would be more similar to that but add a nice glow.  There is nothing about this product that adds an immediate glow, just similar skin brightening ingredients that contribute  to skin health and appearance that are also formulated in large part into other, far better, formulas by Elta MD such as the UV clear.  Suggest skipping this one.

finally!

I finally found the perfect daytime facial moisturizer with sunscreen. Unlike some reviewers here, I LOVE the consistency. It feels like food for my skin. It will blend and sink in. I have been searching for a pure zinc sunscreen like this forever. The only issue is the packaging. Not the biggest fan of this particular pump mechanism.

Not cosmetically elegant

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I love Elta MD. Their AM moisturizer and UV Clear changed my skin. I was excited to try a completely physical sunscreen since all of their other products are so cosmetically elegant— they melt into the skin and work well on their own or layered with other skincare or makeup.  I did not love UV Glow. I have extremely fair skin so I have the luxury of not ever having to worry about white cast from sunscreen. This sunscreen somehow leaves a white cast on my skin. It is very tacky, even when I try warming it up between my fingers.  It takes vigorous effort to rub it in and the white cast does fade *slightly* into a dewy looking finish but its still noticeable, even under makeup. It also dries very sticky on the skin. I’m sure the protection is great but I can’t see myself using this even on my body because of the white cast, stickiness, and how difficult it is to apply. I’m trying to figure out how not to waste it!

Horrible consistency

The consistency feels like glue, and there is no “glow” like it claims. It leave a very noticeable white cast. Don’t buy this one…stick with their regular sunscreen.

I actually really like this sunscreen!

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

This is not a daily sunscreen for the office. I really like this as a mineral sunscreen for outdoors! Note that this review is in comparison to other high zinc 100% mineral sunscreens. This formula does goes on a bit white, but this decreases after it's rubbed in and sinks in for about 10 minutes. Then I like to put a little bit of powder on top if needed. It's smooth, leaves a light glossy finish, and offers solid protection when you are outdoors, especially if you are melasma-prone. It's not rated as waterproof, but based on this formula's resistance to being washed off with water, I feel confident wearing it out on long hot sweaty days. (Wash it off with an oil cleanser)

Awful!

I wish I had read the other reviews before I purchased this product. The other reviews are correct...it is MUCH to think. It feels like I am putting paste on my face. I love Elta sunscreens but this is everything that people don't like about sunscreens.

Not the same as their other products

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I was expecting this to be similar to the other elta products that melt into my skin- like the elta uv clear broad spectrum, but this has a totally different feel. It does not blend well and it leaves that white zinc residue. It contains niacinamide and hyaluronic acid so I know it is good for my skin, but I think the 20% of zinc is just too much. I will be switching back to the board spectrum which I think leaves more of a glow than this product.

UV Mud-Thick and Horrible sunscreen

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I am a die hard EltaMD fan and have used UV Clear for years. I was excited to try this with all of the hype around it and gosh, was I surprised how terrible this sunscreen was. It should be called, "UV Mud", because it's like a super thick, white mud that feels like you are wearing a mask on your face. It was so thick it would not blend in and instead felt heavy and gross on my skin and it left a white hue on my face. My skin was tugging as I was trying to just smear it on my face (that is how thick it is). I could not even stand it for 10 minutes and had to wash my face twice with my face brush to get it off. There is nothing glowing about it unless you consider looking like a ghost a "glow". I can't imagine that this sunscreen would NOT have broken me out how thick and heavy it felt and it was literally the worst sunscreen I have ever used. Needless to say, I won't be messing with perfection anymore and will stick to my perfect UV Clear.

Dissapointing

2 stars out of a maximum of 5

I was so excited to try this product. I waited four weeks for it to be delivered. I have fair sensitive skin. When using a pea size amount of this sunscreen it left a white cast on my face that never seemed to go away. I found it greasy and it caused me to break out. I purchased the untinted version because I don't want to use a version with tinted makeup in it. I have mixed feeling about this product. There are other EltaMD mineral sunscreens that I like better.
