Been using this sunscreen for 10+ years
I have been using Elta MD sunscreen for over 10 years. My dermatologist recommended it when I was in high school to help with rosacea and acne. He also said it still allows healthy red and blue light through, like the red and blue light therapy you can get at a derm office or med spa. I have never had a sunburn when using this product and I believe it has helped with facial redness.

BEST SPF I have ever used!
I have had issues with acne my entire life (I am now 29) and any SPF I have tried to use in the past only made my skin oily and I broke out even more. This is the first SPF I have ever used (going four months strong!) - it is NOT oily at all, it is lightweight, and it doesn't cause me to break out. Does Not Irritate My Sensitive Eyes
My dermatologist had recommended a different brand of sunscreen, but I have extremely sensitive eyes and have found that stearic acid or other stearates irritate them, and the other brand contains stearic acid. So I stumbled upon this since it is so highly rated and showed up in the search for sunscreens. My only problem with it is that I did not notice that it is for more oily or acne-prone skin, which I used to have, but am now over 70, and my skin is normal to dry. That is not the fault of the sunscreen, however. I then tried the Daily version, and it works just great (and does not irritate my eyes, either). When reading through the descriptions of the various versions of the EltaMD sunscreens, I was a bit overwhelmed and confused, but EltaMD's website, eltamd.com, has a very helpful chart for the various skin types under the tab Regimens.

I have been using this for about a month. at first i didn't like this product because it kept pilling on my face. i have a bit of medium, olive, darker skin color and apply vitamin c on my face first and then i was applying cerave moisturizing cream and then applying this product. that wasn't working for me. i took out the moisturizer from my routine and started just lightly patting this product into my skin after vitamin c and that has been working really well and avoiding the pilling. if i rub, then it pills. there is a slight white tint to it but within 10-15 minutes it disappears. it definitely helps calm my active acne and reduce the redness. will repurchase

Works For Rosacea And Sensitive Skin
There are very few products that I can use on my face without causing a painful reaction so I was delighted to discover this sunscreen. It feels like moisturizer, not sunscreen, so it's easy to use every day. Per my dermatologist's instructions, I use my rosacea medicine first, wait about five minutes, and then apply the sunscreen. Skin protection with no irritation!

However, one thing to be aware of is that this sunscreen might cause pilling if you're not careful (so I'd pat the product into your skin instead of rubbing).
