This water-resistant sunscreen is specially formulated for those with active lifestyles and is also ideal for daily use for both adults and children. Made with zinc oxide, it helps to reflect and scatter UVA and UVB rays while knotgrass extract, rich in flavonoids, combats the signs of aging.
Key Ingredients:
- Zinc Oxide: natural mineral compound that reflects and scatters UVA and UVB rays
- Polygonum Aviculare Extract (Knotgrass Extract): a botanical extract rich in flavonoids that fights signs of aging, enhances skin firmness and elasticity and reduces the appearance of wrinkles
- Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters and Jojoba Esters: improves water-resistance, extends the amount of time ingredients stay on skin, extends skin hydration, improves barrier function and reduces the appearance of redness

Difficult to spread
I had high hopes for this, as I usually love the Elta MD line. But this was difficult to spread and never really dried down. It even stained my swimwear.

I do love EltaMD products! But this product I'm not too sure about it, especially for the price and size of it. The amount of sunscreen you need to put on to ensure robust application, and the amount that is in this bottle just isn't enough....

Least favorite of the four Elta sunscreens I've tried that provide physical, chemical-free protection. Mainly unhappy with the thick, shiny, sticky film that transfers onto whatever I brush against. Nevertheless, like all Elta products, it delivers the protection that it promises. Feel confident in its water-resistant promise also.

I have used this before and I don't remember it being this thick and white. I wanted an SPF to wear to the pool, lake, exercising outside but it looks like straight zinc. I love EltaMD products but this one I guess isn't for me anymore.

Not my favorite EltaMD sunscreen. I like a water resistant sunscreen but Active is just too thick. I was hoping it would glide on smoother than Sport but that is not the case. It is a very good sunscreen but not for me.

Great for active kids
I use this on my kids who are out in the Florida sun for hours a day. Coverage is great and no burns, just make sure to reapply per instructions. Yes, there is a white cast, it’s a mineral sunscreen! Haven’t met a mineral sunscreen without one! Rub it in well especially at the hairline and you’ll be fine. If you want a mineral sunscreen for an active lifestyle this is great.

Works but classic sunscreen issues
This isn't a miracle product. It is sticky as heck and leaves a white cast. However, it does a wonderful job of protecting your skin and for days where I don't care how I look (I just want protection from the sun), I reach for this product!
