Neutral to Unfavorable Results

2 stars out of a maximum of 5

This is the first Elta MD product I've tried and don't love. It doesn't do anything for my skin tone, and if anything, leaves skin slightly pinkish/red. (Not in a glowy way, but in an irritated way.) To be fair to the product, I've tried it on and off for over a month and have not made other changes to my skincare routine. It seems this is the culprit - my skin just doesn't react well to it. It almost feels a little itchy in the cheek and jaw area, and I'm noticing some breakout occurring. (My skin sometimes breaks out when it is too hot, too windy, too cold...I'm not blaming the product for breakout, but it definitely hasn't done anything to prevent breakout.)

Broke me out

2 stars out of a maximum of 5

Unfortunately this caused acne breakouts each time I used it. It would cause clusters of small white heads. I know it was this because I waited a few weeks again to try it and same thing. Small breakouts all over in random places. I was really hoping that it would work out for me and I did appreciate that is wasn't fragranced but unfortunately I can't use this.

Wonderful Toner

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I have dry skin that breaks out very easily. This toner is moisturizing and calms the redness on my skin. I have also not had any breakouts since I started using this a few weeks ago. Highly recommend

Nice product

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I have a tendency to overdue it on exfoliating products and at times, my face can become red and irritated. I've decided to take a break from actives and have been using this toner for a few weeks. I can say this product definitely tones down redness and seems to help my breakouts / post inflammatory hyperpigmentation calm down faster. I would repurchase.

I trust this toner!

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

Never really been one to prioritize a toner. Many nowadays have AHA/BHAs in their formulas, which turned me off for so long since I have very sensitive skin. But this toner is amazing! I love that it's focused on barrier repair! The first toner I've seen to be tailored for repairing the skin barrier. It thoroughly cleans and hydrates , without leaving my face feeling dry or irritated. Not much of a scent either! Sometimes I pat this onto my skin and follow up with a hyaluronic acid serum, and this does wonders for my skin! I've been using this toner so far for two weeks and I have seen SUCH an improvement. I'd love for more people to know about it! I hope it can help many others who are searching for a gentle/hydrating toner to add to their routines :) will definitely buy again !

Excellent option for toner!

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

This is a great option for those with sensitive or reactive skin types. In my opinion, it does have a slight residue feeling you might say. In other words, it doesn't "absorb" quickly or leave a matte finish. This product wasn't designed for that however, it is chock full of antioxidants as well as a few skin conditioning ingredients. Remember, it's designed to help repair a compromised lipid barrier. If you were searching for a "cleansing" product, this isn't the one. I don't believe enough consumers understand the difference between a toner and astringent except the alcohol factor. In reality, any "toner" that has a stripping property or cleansing factor really is more so an astringent. With that being said, I really only like to use this at night as it's so hot right now. I could see this as a twice a day product in winter time when skin is particularly parched. For my skin, if I layer too many products, it's all downhill from there lol. As far as the "system", I really think it's a bit ridiculous to use 3 products all aimed at the same method of skin transformation. I urge consumers to truly research the formulations and determine whether having three similar products layered on is truly worth it. To me, the serum vice the moisturizer is really the big question. The serum will have a more concentrated availability of the ingredients typically with additional ingredients the moisturizer will usually lack. However, do you really need THAT many actives on your face? I don't believe so. I think any item from the lineup is great, but make sure you're assessing your own skin's concerns. Not every product from the brand will suit your skin or it's current needs. I was a little disappointed to see this marketed as almost a "must use this as a system". Even before this product line, I almost always stuck to the AM moisturizer over the PM. Even the naming convention implied you MUST use both. Remember, less is more! And if you have to splurge on ANYTHING, SUNSCREEN!
