For extra moisture replenishment, it can be used at night.

recommended by my dermatologist, no need to pay a lot of money for high end products. this is well worth the money and alittle goes a long way

favorite nighttime moisturizer
For my dry skin, this is the best basic nighttime moisturizer. As far as I can tell, it has no active ingredients. I started using this product years ago when my facial skin was very dry and irritated for various reasons. To help my skin recover, for 2-3 months, this was the only product I used after washing my face and before going to bed. Yes, my skin healed and I have been loyal ever since. Now I use it as a buffer in my retinol product regimen. Works great for me this way too since retinol alone on my skin causes dryness and flaking. I will continue to repurchase.

meh... no big deal...
The moisturiser is kinda just a glorified vaseline tube... Works well to keep moisture in, but you can just use off brand petroleum jelly for a fraction of the cost...

A must for chemically sensitized skin
If you use tretinoin and vitamin C (ascorbic acid) as I do, you may often find that your skin becomes raw and irritated. When my skin has had enough, I often find that this (or plain petroleum jelly) is the only thing that my skin can tolerate. This is better than plain petroleum, however, as it spreads better over damp skin (keeping the skin moist helps to expedite healing). I prefer to use distilled water under it (so as to avoid the chlorine). One thing: I noticed that my last tube ordered from this site had only petroleum and paraffin listed (the ingredient PVP Eicosene Copolymer that Paula Begoun notes on her site as a potential irritant was absent). On Elta M.D.'s site, this is also shown to currently be the case-yet Dermstore is still listing the PVP Eicosene Copolymer in their ingredient list. Perhaps this needs to be updated?

Skin doctor recommended moisturizer
this was recommended to me by my doctor who wears it around his office to keep his skin moisturized. I have been using it overnight and whenever I spend a day at home with no makeup. It is the best I've ever found!

Good for very sensitive skn
I have rosacea and this product seals in moisture after I wash my face. My face, which used to be normal, is extra dry in the nose and cheek area. This is where I apply this product.

Better than Vaseline, but not as good as serums
This product doesn't aggravate my mild rosacea. But it's not as good a moisturizer as other creams or serums. it leaves my face greasy, so I can only use it at night.

very moisturizing as promised
The consistency did surprise me, it's like Vaseline. Amazingly though it does not break me out. Not sure if I would recommend for oily, acne prone skin though. I love that it has a 0 rating from EWG, meaning no chemicals.

works great for very dry itchy sensitive skin
I would recommend Elta to almost anyone. It is a fantastic moisturizer for dry sensitive skin. Pros: I have dry, sensitive skin that can't tolerate AHAs and can be prone to breakouts. This stuff is fabulous! It melts on contact and sinks right into your skin. It provides lots of moisture with no stinging whatsoever and no clogged pores or breakouts. It's soothing and healing to raw, chapped skin. I'm very dry, and sometimes use this over another moisturizer, especially on my cheeks and throat, but it always works well w/ other products. Great for hands and the whole body too! Cons: If you use it on your body, beware of oil marks on certain non-cotton fabrics.

Does the job!
Goes on smooth. It may a bit much for more than just the routhg areas (knees, feet) unless you are REALLY dry. Plus, if you use this for your entire body, you'll run out of product fairly quickly.
