It's just ok to me.
So-I've seen a lot about this face wash. I've been a loyal used of the VI face wash after doing a series of VI Peels a couple years ago-but wanted to try something different. It's just ok to me. Nothing spectacular and it doesn't foam up like I thought it would, either. Don't think I'll be buying again.

Gentle enough for eye area
This is a great gentle cleanser that lightly foams up after you apply and rub into wet skin. It didn't leave my skin feeling tight after and did not sting or dry out my eyes either. It fully removed my sunscreen and light makeup, although I had to cleanse a second time around the eyes to fully remove my eye makeup. It keeps my skin clear and soft, I highly recommend it!

Just OK - Terrible Packaging
I swear bu Elta MD sunscreen so I thought I'd give this a try. It is gentle and hydrating. Doesn't remove makeup well. My biggest issue is the spout where it comes out. After using, product continues to slightly ooze out and dries at the end. It makes a hard soap blob which I constantly have to clean. I've tried wiping after each use, but still end up with this. I've never had this issue with any other cleanser, and even purchased a second bottle to see if the first was just a fluke. It wasn't. I have no idea why this hasn't been called out and redesigned.

Great cleanser
This foaming cleanser feels luxurious going on, and rinses off easily. Does a good job of removing light makeup and daily grime, but it does not leave my skin feeling stripped or dry at all. I can't comment on removing heavier makeup, because I have not tried it for that. I can tell my skin is clean because my moisturizer absorbs so much better after using this.

This mildly fragrant foaming cleanser is the magic ticket. My skin is thoroughly cleansed with one washing. As with other cleansers, this one doesn't leave my face feeling dry. I like all the products I've tried in the line. The price is nice as well. I highly recommend.

Does What It Says
My dermatologist recommended this (I am mid 30's, normal skin, regular retinol user). It is not a glamorous or exciting product yet I keep buying it. It is extremely gentle. It cleanses thoroughly and lathers nicely so you get that "clean" feeling. It doesn't dry out or irritate my skin. The bottle is long lasting. What more could I ask for? Less clinical packaging, apparently... Other reviewers have mentioned the smell but I personally haven't noticed or taken offense. My only complaint is that the pump gets gummy where leftover product has dried, as well as any product that may fall on the bottle or sink. I'd really like this in a tube vs. a pump bottle. After I wash my face I have to wash my face wash bottle, which is kind of annoying.

Kinda of a disappointment
I really wanted to like this face wash because I love elta md products, but sadly I just don't. For starters it's extremely too foamy it literally goes up my nose & gets to the point where I feel like I'm not even cleansing my face. Giving it three stars because it is very gentle & has a very light smell

Good Gentle Cleanser
I love Elta MD sunscreens, so I decided to try some of their other products. This is a good gentle cleanser. A little goes a long way - it starts out thick and creamy and works into a foam. It does not dry out my 50-something year old skin. I am still trying to decide if I like it better than my usual CeraVe cleanser - I think it comes in a close second for a gentle, non-drying cleanser for my sensitive skin. I am pretty sensitive to scents as well, and this one does not bother me at all.
