Sadly, didn't work for me
I had really high hopes for this moisturizer (I use Eltamd's sunscreen and AM therapy moisturizer and love them both). I purchased the barrier renewal to apply after (Skinceuticals) retinol at night but it was not moisturizing enough. I had severe dryness the next morning and took me a few days to recover from it. After my skin was re-balanced, I used it in the morning, after antioxidant (iS clinical super serum advanced plus), and by the end of the day my face was dry and flaky again, which is really strange because I have combination skin and I don't have this issue when using the lighter Eltamd AM therapy moisturizer. I also ended up developing 2 large cystic acne (though, I doubt if they are a result from using the barrier renewal, nonetheless, very distressing as I do not break out anymore). Really not sure why a super moisturizing moisturizer would end up causing dryness...I'm debating whether I should give it another try after my skin re-balances yet again - reluctant to give up on it - but I'm a little weary....my friend uses it (she has dry, very sensitive skin) and it works really well on her.

secret formula to youthful skin!
this moisturizer is AMAZING! it nurtures dehydrated/sensitive skin back to life. A few months ago my moisture barrier was completely destroyed and I spent so many months wondering what was wrong with my skin or what products would soothe the redness/dryness. It wasn't until I found this product that my skin began progressing. Just after 2 days I saw a complete transformation. The little wrinkles in my forehead that were a result of a damaged skin barrier disappeared. I use this morning and night and it does wonders for my skin. The ceramides, lipids, niacinamide, are all wonderful ingredients to repair a damaged barrier. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone trying to replenish moisture into their skin! Sometimes the moisturizer piles but I'm not sure if it's due to the product itself or being layered with sunscreen and other products.

I had forgotten how much I love this product! A few of my favorite qualities: It is deeply moisturizing without clogging pores. The texture of my skin changes overnight with use from being a tiny bit leathery to very smooth and more supple, and after a few weeks the change is here to stay. It is calming, and I notice that the color of my skin is more even and less red. Try it!!!!

I wouldn't recommend this product as it didn't help me with any skin cell turnover nor did it enrich my skin after months of use. Elta MD products have great reviews but this didn't work for me at all. Please avoid if you can.

Sensitive skin savior
After struggling with tons of products and spending tons of money my dermatologist suggested this product to me and I have been on it since. It isn't all about the frills and fragrances with this little guy, its about what it is doing for your skin. SO, if you are looking for a strongly perfumed product to feel luxurious this isn't the one, but if you want your tone to be even, your skin to feel supple and hydrated and something that for once is not going to break you out he is the one!

Hormonal acne LIFE SAVER
I've struggled with PCOS acne for years. I went to a skin renewal center and the doctor there recommend this product to me. It is wonderful. It is fairly light weight, it doesn't leave my skin shiny or greasy, it's hydrating, and it does what it says. This product actually dries as a film on your skin when used correctly. This film protects your skin from environmental and industrial pollutants. It is NOT a sunscreen. The film is only noticable at night when I was my face. I can feel it with the tips of my fingers. It doesn't flake or peel, makeup goes on flawlessly. I have extremely sensitive skin and almost EVERYTHING MAKES ME BREAK OUT. I've spent hundreds of dollars over the years are products that do nothing or make my skin worse. This stuff it gold!

It's okay
I love mostly all of Elta MD products but this one was not my favorite. I expected it to be more hydrating but after about an hour after putting it on, my face felt dry again. The smell is horrible. So I'm gonna give this product 7/10. I just don't think it was right for my skin. However, I did like that it was very lightweight so I would recommend it to someone who doesn't mind a bad smell.
