A Decent Primer, But Not Life Changing For Me
I had high hopes for the Velvet Skin Coat, since I love DHC cleaning oil. My skin is on the Normal/Oily side with some acne scarring; causing some uneven texture. I didn't expect miracles, but I did hope for better results. It feels very smooth going on the skin, but it didn't do a whole lot more than other primers I use to minimize the look of pores. I also noticed that depending on which base make-up I used that day, the foundation seemed to disappear. I am going to keep using it, hoping to find the foundation that works well with it.. But unless I can find the right combo, I don't see myself repurchasing. I believe this product would be best for those with no real specific skin concerns, and are just looking for a simple dimethicone product to hold moisture in the skin and give somewhat of a smooth surface. I will most likely use this on clients who have generally non problematic skin issues prior to make-up application..

My Favorite Product
I have been using this for 8 years. I get compliments on my skin frequently. It does feel like velvet when you apply it, and instantly makes my skin less shiny and overall smooth. I do not put anything over it until I use pressed mineral powder for a touch-up later in the day.

Really good product!
This product is really nice! I have been using it for a few months and wouldn't turn to another primer for a while. The price of this is also a major plus, as some other primers can go all the way up to 40. Really recommend especially for beginners.

My Favorite Primer
This works great and a little goes a long way. It smoothes out my pores and gives a overall smooth texture and unlike a lot of heavier primers that I've tried it doesn't pill when used under foundation nor cause me to break out. I even use larger amounts to fill in some of my smaller acne scars as a last step after applying my foundation and powder and it looks quite natural.

Clogged pores
Unfortunately this item in my beautyfix didn't work for me. I like a lot of items I receive from my beautyfix box. They are products with quality that are proven to work on many people. However, this particular face primer clogged up my pores which eventually resulted in more noticeable Whiteheads over a period of time. It may work for an instant, seemingly blurring your pores, but in the long run, it is not good for your skin as especially if you have large pores like me around your nose area.

Good basic primer
This is a good primer if you aren't looking for additional benefits. It doesn't include sunscreen or any skincare extras but provides a nice matte base for makeup.
