Dermstore Collection's Daily Mineral Sunscreen SPF 40 provides sun protection with a universally flattering sheer tint. This formula blurs imperfections without leaving a white residue on skin. Mineral based, this facial sunscreen shields the skin against both UVA and UVB rays, while vitamins C and E protect against damaging free radicals. Perfect to wear alone or under makeup, as it doubles as a smoothing makeup primer.

Warnings: For external use only. Do not use on damaged or broken skin. Stop use and ask a doctor if rash occurs. When using this product, keep out of eyes. Rinse with water to remove. Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. Use a water-resistant product if swimming or sweating. Reapply at least every 2 hours. Children under 6 months: Ask a doctor. Sun Protection Measures: Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a broad spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: Limit time in the sun, especially from 10 am-2 pm. Wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses.

New favorite
If the best sunscreen is the one you will use every day, then this is my new favorite. The texture is AMAZING; lots of silicones make it glide onto skin like silk. The tint is natural looking and not too heavy, and it gives a glow without looking or feeling oily/greasy. No white cast either which is impressive for a 16% zinc oxide mineral sunscreen. This product gets bonus points for its moisture retention/emollient ingredients, fatty acids, vitamins, and ceramides on the inactive ingredient list, so I feel like the skincare benefits go beyond sun protection. I actually look forward to putting it on. I am officially an elta MD convert and can easily see myself repurchasing this to wear every day.

I looove the texture and feel of this sunscreen when applying. The tint is perfect for hiding white cast and it isn’t too drying for my dry skin. I thought I had finally found the one. However each time I’ve used it, about an hour or two after applying, my face feels irritated and blotchy and I have to wash it off. Sad because it looks and feels amaaazing at first :(

Love this sunscreen
I initially got this as a sample in my BeautyFix box and liked it so much I ordered a full size when it was on sale. It is a perfect neutral color, not too warm or cool and disappears into my skin leaving a smooth matte surface that almost feels like a primer. It evens out the skin tone so can be worn alone without foundation. I will sometimes brush my Colorscience SPF powder to set it and provide additional protection and matte finish. It doesn't pill over my serum and moisturizer, nor if I apply a liquid foundation over it as each layer is allowed to dry. It feels nourishing to the skin and sometimes feel I can skip the moisturizer entirely on a hot day. I like that it has an SPF of 40. Elta MD and SkinMedica had been my go-to sunscreens but I plan to completely switch over to this sunscreen as soon as they are used up because I prefer the color and matte finish.

I ended up returning this sunscreen because it made my makeup look cakey and my foundation didn’t go on smoothly over it. I’m sure the sunblock is effective, but I had to rub my foundation on so hard over the top of the product because it just wouldn’t glide on smoothly. I worried that the tugging on my skin in applying my foundation would contribute to more wrinkles and would be hard on my skin.

I’ve been a user of Elta MD for about two years now and have felt even though it didn’t break me out, I still looked oily which I hated. Made the switch to Dermstore’s brand after research and I don’t think I’ll be switching back to Elta anytime soon! This sunscreen applies well and I love the matte finish. I haven’t broken out while using it which is a plus. I think it’s a good winter time sunscreen and after it goes on I don’t notice it.
