Colorescience Calming Primer SPF 20 (formerly known as "Calming Perfector SPF 20") features an antioxidant-rich formula that smoothly glides over skin to even skin's tone and texture as it camouflages pores, fine lines, broken capillaries and blemishes with a soft, illuminating effect. Its redness-neutralizing properties make it especially beneficial for skin that's recently had laser treatments or facial waxing.

Primer with SPF
I take the blame for the low rating- I thought I could use this product over my spf for a light, sheer tint. I can't. It's thick- what I think a primer is supposed to be- and not what I was looking for.

My new daily sunscreen
This has a thicker consistency than others I have tried and I think because of that does a better job. I use this alone and as a primer and. We'd my sunscreen to stay put. I have very sensitive skin with Rosacea and very happy with the product so far.

Breakout Disaster!
After all of the positive reviews, I was really excited to try this. I have yet to find a liquid primer/tinted moisturizer/daily spf that doesn't cause my face to breakout. I wanted to love this product, but it caused the WORST reaction after using it for 2 days. I've never had acne on my cheeks or forehead, until I used this. I waited a week to try it again (in case it was a fluke), but the same thing happened. I am sure it would be amazing for those that don't have problematic skin, but I'm definitely not using again.

A Holy Grail
The Calm Primer has a light natural tint to it. I have tried many tinted SPF's but all are too dark for me or leave me looking orange. This one is perfect for pale/fair/medium skin, adding a little color. It will work on darker skin tones but won't give any extra color. It helps even out my skin tone and from all the hyperpigmentation I have from post acne. This one I think will be great for sensitive skin. I have used this one after my chemical peels and it is calming, hydrating, and neutralizes redness. Because it evens out my skin tone perfectly, I am more comfortable going out to work and errands without any makeup on top, even when my skin is peeling. The primer has an SPF 20 and I always use a separate SPF before. The consistency is a thick whipped texture. I have found that trying to blend it in on dry skin does not work, it just pills and pulls at your skin. I either put it on about a minute after my SPF, while my skin is still slightly moist or I'll spray my face and then put it on. One pump is enough for the whole face, again, on moist skin, it blends easily and smoothly. The primer creates a smooth and long-lasting base under makeup. I let it set for at least 2 minutes before putting on any foundation. My skin looks hydrated and smooth and every foundation from liquid matte, semi-matte, and powdered goes on beautifully on top. I have combo oily, acne prone skin and these primers, with every foundation, has kept my oils at bay and lasted the whole day, some days more than 8+ hours of wear. It has not caused any congestion or breakouts and the ingredients are A+ as well.

Great for sensitive skin
The primer goes on smoothly, and a little goes a long way. It is gentle on my sensitive skin (I have rosacea.) The SPF is a bonus. I don't need any additional foundation. I do use the Colorscience powder sunscreen over it in the summer months.

Very disappointing. Product dry, caky and does not spread easily.
So disapointed. In the past, over a decade ago I used the colorscience powder sunscreen religiously and loved it. I was happy to see the new range of products and this primer came so highly rated. My experience is that the product came out very dry and caky and was exceedingly hard to spread in an even way. It was very difficult to smooth and blend over my face. To make matters worst, after applying the caky primer and waiting a few minutes I tried to apply the two different color science foundations I also purchased. Disaster. The foundation that come with a sponge applicator just moved the caky primer around unevenly and I repeatedly had to wash my face to try again. So disappointed. I am wondering if I could have received an older product as this has happened to me several times before with dermstore. I do not recommend to anyone nor will I by from color science again.
