Here's how it works: open cells absorb water and make the sponge double in size. Once wet, you bounce the sponge in your makeup and then apply it to your face. This supplies a smooth, streak-free application of liquid, cream and powder products. Pro tip: use the pointed tip for those hard-to-reach places like your nose and under eyes, and the rounded end to cover a larger surface like your forehead and cheeks.
Wet beautyblender® with water.
Squeeze out the excess liquid, using a towel if available.
Bounce concealer, primer, foundation, powder, cream blush or any other complexion product across the face for flawless results. The sponge should be replaced every 3 months.

The best way to apply foundation
The best sponge of all the BeautyBlenders. It doesn't bleed like the pink sponge and apply foundation seamlessly as advertised. Haven't found a foundation brush that works as grateful as this sponge. I have repurchased this many times and will continue to do so.

Once you go black...
I have tried pretty much every color of beauty blender. But I always go back to the black one. It is denser and can really take more a beating, I have also noticed I can use it for a solid month to two months longer than the original or some of the other limited edition shades. I love the way it applies the makeup. The black color is also a plus if you are like me and get really frustrated if you can't remove all the stains from the other colors because you won't know.

My Favorite Sponge
I have tried pretty much all the popular sponges out there and this is the one I like best. Durable enough to withstand the amount of cleansing I inflict on it, I wash my sponges every day, or every other day, yet soft enough to delicately blend out my foundation. The shape and size are perfect for my face, can cover larger areas like my cheeks and forehead, while still able to get in tight spaces like under eyes and nose creases. The other colors of the Beautyblenders seem a bit softer, but I prefer this black one.

I understand the hype now
I've tried all kinds of makeup sponges and this one seriously blends flawlessly. If you like a natural looking finish then this is perfect for you, but if you're going full coverage then probably not. I apply everything with it- B.B. cream, foundation, powder and concealer, I might get one in every color just to use with different products

Over priced.
It's pretty good. Though it's not worth the price since you're supposed to replace it every 3 months. I've used different brands and have found cheaper alternatives. I liked that they had different color options though.

This thing is a game changer. I avoided foundation because I always struggled with a good even application without a cakey look. This really fixed those problems for me. And it even made usable a foundation I have and love, but could never get a good application with using their foundation brush. Much smoother application with the BeautyBlender. Great for dry skin
This is the perfect way to lay foundation smoothly over dry skin. Unlike brushes, nothing roughs up your skin texture or creates streaks or gathering in dry spots. In fact, even if you do see flaking or texture, this sponge is an excellent option for laying things smooth again. Also excellent for not disturbing layers underneath - like primers or moisturizers. I use this with 100% pure foundation.
