A great product
I love the Xeracalm line from Avene. This is thicker than Xeracalm Cream. Great for dry skin, feet, hands!!

Great moisturizer
I've been using this on my children for a couple of weeks. It is very moisturizing and does not have a scent. I would recommend to use it twice a day as suggested.

A New Favorite
The balm is my new favorite facial moisturizer. I previously used the cream version, loved it and ran out. But when it came time to repurchase I noticed the positive reviews for the balm and decided to repurchase the cream as well as try the balm to compare. The initial consistency seems similar, but the balm is slightly thicker/heavier and spreads evenly without leaving white streaks like the cream. I use the balm at night and wake up with smooth, hydrated skin. The packaging is also far superior in the larger size and I can control how much product I want without any goopy mess along the opening like the squeeze bottle version. Overall, very pleased with this purchase and will be buying the balm exclusively going forward.

A Product Worth Trying
I bought this for my husband hoping it would relief his dry itchy skin. He has tried steroid cream, moisturizers of varied brands to no avail. The ingredients of this product seem good to try. It's been two weeks without seeing significant relief. He likes the soothing, calming, fragrant-free and non-greasy features. Maybe it's too soon to notice a positive effect. For the price paid, we hope it works.

Saved my 4 yr olds skin
My 4 year old grand daughter has moderate to severe eczema on her ankles, behind knees, and sometimes arms & face. Prescription steroids did nothing but sting and burn with minimal improvement. Her socks, clothes, sheets would be covered in blood every morning. We tried everything on the market, then found Avene. The balm, along with the cleansing oil, healed her skin within days. She now has only minor outbreaks. Her once painful, itchy, bleeding skin now looks healthy and smooth. I started using too and love it. I can't say enough good about Avene.

Best winter moisturizer, ever!
My skin is so dry and hypersensitive, even my dermatologist does not know what to recommend anymore, yet this balm works like food for my skin! I could not be happier with its soothing nutritious effects. The balm is even better than the cream, yet it tends to feel a bit sticky for a few minutes, so if you have sensitive skin, but do not want to have that sticky feeling after you put on a moisturizer, I would go for the cream version of this balm. However, if your first priority is deep and lasting moisture in your skin, choose this balm!

Best Body Moisturizer
I tried this balm after using everything to try and combat lifelong eczema, including coconut oil, Cetaphil, CeraVe, Eucerin, Aveeno, Nivea, various hydrocortisones and steroid creams. I used the balm in conjunction with a short term prescription strength steroid cream to treat the itch, while XeraCalm delivered healing moisture back to the skin. I didn't want to use the steriod cream for too long, bc of their side effects, I never needed more than the sample size my dermatologist gave me when I used Xeracalm after! Now that the eczema is under control, the next best thing I like about the balm is that my skin remains hydrated for 24 hours! I have tried both the cream and balm, thinking I would use the cream more in warmer weather, however I just find myself using less of the balm during the summer.

Best OTC topical for eczema I have found
This product, along with the same line's cleansing oil and cleansing bar, has made a tremendous difference in my sensitive skin and eczema. The sterile packaging allows the line to avoid excessive preservatives. Although the fragrance-free formula does have a faint sour smell, it does not linger and is not offensive. I much prefer this to a product that has naturally-scented ingredients that are skin irritants. If you are looking for a moisturizer that will calm eczema, this is it.
