Avène XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil calms, soothes and alleviates itching associated with atopic dermatitis and eczema. The moisturizing oil deeply cleans without drying out the skin or causing further aggravation during flare-up
In the shower, lather in hands before applying to the skin. In the bath, pour the equivalent of 5 pumps into bathwater while filling the tub. Rinse and gently pat dry. Follow with XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cream for very dry skin or XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Balm for severely dry skin.

Horrible chemical scent, not for Sebderm skin
There is something about the scent that makes me feel like I can taste the chemicals. I have never had a cleanser bother me before. I have discontinued using this. Good at removing makeup.

Great Cleanser for sensitive skin!
It smells like hospital soap to me but that's no deal breaker. It cleans all my makeup off without drying my skin or making me oily. A little bit goes a long way too so the bottle will last a long time. I have eczema and skin allergies so my skin is super sensitive. It's Just what I've been searching for.

So my skin is habitually dry and dehydrated... no matter what cleansers i used it always feels tight and dry right after (like within 10 seconds) EXCEPT THIS! I use it every night and then in the morning i just splash some water and a few quick swipes of witch hazel and OMG it has changed my skin for the better. I still do the whole serum/moisturizer process after of course but implementing this instead of my previous wash (dermalogica sensitive wash) has made my skin brighter and kept my dryness at bay. I have very sensitive skin and haven't had any flare ups or irritation since switching to this wash about a month ago. Totally in love.

Game Changer
Thus is truly an amazing cleanser. I can't believe how well it cleanses yet without drying at all and without leaving any residue. No fragrance. While it is a cleansing oil, you do not add water to it to emulsify; rather, it emulsifies on its own with some agitation in your hands. I use it on my body and also as shampoo. It works better than any shampoo, soap or liquid cleanser I have ever used. I have mild stress-induced psoriasis. This product is the best I've ever found for cleaning without drying-and also not leaving a film of moisturizing agent meant to counteract the cleanser. It not only fails to cause irritation but also calms existing irritation, at least in my experience. I'm so happy it comes in a large container. I think it is a very unique product.

Holy Grail for my Eczema!
I have been through probably close to 300 cleansers for my face AND body and nothing compares to XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil by Avene. The name "Cleansing Oil" is deceiving because it is a liquid soap and foams up like a normal cleanser - so it is not a true oil as the name implies. I have a lot of weird autoimmune related skin issues on my face and body, eczema, angular chillitis and I develop a dermatitis if you look at me funny. This is the only cleanser that I can use head to toe that does not irritate my skin in any way, give me a rash, leave me red, or make my skin itch when I get out of the shower. I have one at my sink for my face and one in the tub for my body and face. You can use it in a puff because it foams up nicely. If Avene stops making it I seriously do not know what I will do.
