Avène XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil calms, soothes and alleviates itching associated with atopic dermatitis and eczema. The moisturizing oil deeply cleans without drying out the skin or causing further aggravation during flare-up
In the shower, lather in hands before applying to the skin. In the bath, pour the equivalent of 5 pumps into bathwater while filling the tub. Rinse and gently pat dry. Follow with XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cream for very dry skin or XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Balm for severely dry skin.

MUST have for eczema
I am so happy I FINALLY found a product that I can use daily on my son's super sensitive eczema skin. All the AVENE XERA CALM products are life-changing! This one I even send to daycare to use on his hands. His hands use to bleed before with regular soap; this really improved our lives. I HIGHLY recommend! We also use for his bath.

The only face wash I use
I have struggled for years with eczema and have tried everything on the market from drugstore brands (Cerave) to high end (Nuxe). This is far and away the most effective at cleansing my skin without drying it out. It's helped keep my flare ups at bay. I used to get dry, red, intensely itchy rashes on my face, but this has solved that issue. I also use an Avene moisturizer (not the XeraCalm), and together, I have a very effective eczema care routine.

It makes me skin feel healthy
I have been struggling with rashes, extreme dry skin, eczema, and rosacea for the last 2 years. I had to use steroid creams fairly frequently to control my skin discomforts. I initially got this as a sample. I have extremely sensitive skin and I have to be careful about which products I use. I took a chance and tried this product and my skin has improved so much the last 6 months; no rashes, no break outs. My skin feels calmer and looks healthy again. I don't have the rashes and eczema flare ups as often. I haven't had to use the steroid creams to control my symptoms as frequently (down from every 10 days to maybe twice the last 6 months). The cleansing oil doesn't lather like other cleansers. It does a great job of taking off my sunscreen and eye make-up. I doMy husband also loves the product. I highly recommend it.

My New Favorite Face Cleanser
I have very sensitive dry rosacea-prone skin. My rosacea is the redness kind, not the acne kind. I have to be very careful what I put on my face because I react to most products. I am new to the Avene line and have to say that I am in love with most of the products I tried. This being one of them. I do have to say when I first put it on my dry face I was not happy (just give me a minute here to explain). It's thick like hand soap or shower gel which I wasn't expecting. The first time I used it I didn't "get" it. It's not a cleaning oil in the traditional sense. It wasn't until the second (and third and forth) time that I realized just how awesome this product is. Like I mentioned, it's not really a cleaning oil in the traditional sense, it's thick and not really oily. But once you massage it into your skin and then add a little water, BAM! this cleaning oil becomes silky and foamy and divine, really. I love the texture and the way it makes my face feel, soft, smooth and clean without being dry or oily like some cleaning oils leave your face. I would say this product is probably good for most skin types, even oily since it doesn't leave an oily residue. And I have to say that you get a generous amount of product for the price point. I've used more expensive products that don't feel half as good as this one. Definitely a must-have for the upcoming cold months!

Highly Recommend for Everyone
i always have an oil-based cleanser on hand because they're very useful for removing stubborn skincare products, such as anti-perspirant and water resistant sunscreen, and they do not dry the skin, which means they're a must have during winter. this product looks like a liquid soap, is champagne colored, unscented and it lightly/barely foams. it can be used all over the body and even as a facial cleanser (i "double cleanse" so i would use this as the second cleanser). the packaging is top notch and i would feel comfortable traveling with it and not worry about leaking. i could happily use this as a body and facial cleanser for the entire family if i needed to be a minimalist. in addition, i live in a hard water region and this product still performs well despite that fact. i rely on this product for my toddler who gets dry skin/eczema related to his seasonal allergies and i am pleased how well it works on him because it does not exacerbate his problem areas and it keeps his skin calm. i am also grateful that dermstore is an authorized retailer. i always know my products are fresh and authentic which is a huge relief.

If you have sensitive, dry skin - this is THE BEST cleanser. Even Cetaphil, which is supposed to be the most gentle cleanser, dry's me out. This calmed my skin down immensely - I noticed a small difference in a few days and a big difference after 2 weeks. Less redness, pores seem slightly smaller, face doesn't get tight after washing. Can't live without!
