Very nice beginner retinol
I have dry skin, and so far this retinol has not given me a dry patch /irritation. However, retinol on its own can be drying. What has helped me with this product is the “sandwich method” apply a thin layer of my moisturizer first, the Avene retinAl, moisturizer again. I went through a small purge phase, but after the small breakouts cleared my skin is glowing and super clear. I haven’t finished the bottle yet, but so far this is the best retinol for my skin type. Others were simply too drying and burning my skin. This one hasn’t done that! It’s pricey, but I know it’s worth it.

Effective wrinkle cream
I have been using this crème for about 1 year since my dermatologist recommended it to me. It has improved the quality of my facial skin (reduced smaller wrinkles, and soften deeper ones) more effectively than any other OTC retinol type cream I’ve tried. However, I never would have tried it based on the price without my doctor recommending it. Generally it takes some practice to get the portions correct when applying, a little does not go a long way. And you may want to still use another moisturizer on top of this at night since it doesn’t have a hydrating feel.

I have very sensitive skin plus rosacea and this product has never broken me out. It’s oil free and it is intense. I don’t use it all of the time but when I feel like I need a very light peel, this is my go to product. I apply with gloves so that it doesn’t dry out my hands.

I really like this product. It smells nice and goes on smoothly. At first I felt like I didn't see much of a difference but I definitely see one now. I feel like I see fewer deep wrinkles and it has helped my hormonal acne. I did not have any sensitive reactions to it either which was great. It is my new favorite product.

This is the best you can get before tretinoin. This doesn’t irritate my skin at all and it has a nice creamy texture. I think I need more time to see any anti-aging, but everyone should use a vitamin A daily.
