Avène Antirougeurs Calm Soothing Repair Mask immediately relieves the warmth, redness, inflammation and irritation associated with reactive and post-procedure skin. Avène Thermal Spring Water soothes the skin with natural minerals. Ruscus aculeatus root extract calms irritation while reducing redness. Vitamin E helps to repair weakened skin. Fragrance-free, hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic.
Apply a thick layer on cleansed skin. Leave on for 10 to 15 minutes. Gently remove excess with a cotton pad and mist with Avène Thermal Spring Water. Apply as needed. Suitable for use during flare-ups or post-laser.

Great Mask
I use this mask when I'm having a rosacea flare. It is soothing and I think it helps when my skin is really irritated. Like other reviewers have said, it is not a thick mask, it is very light. I have also slept with this on when my skin was irritated and it made a significant difference.

Great When My Skin Is Acting Up
I love to take long baths, but my sensitive, rosacea prone skin does not! Now I apply a thick layer of this all over my face before I step in the tub, and it helps keep my skin calm and cool. After, I rinse off and my skin is happy. I also like to keep it in the fridge sometimes. It isn't a must have for me, but it does have a place in my routine and I will continue to use as and when it is needed. Love Avene products in general and this is no exception.

Not exactly as expected
When I think of a calming mask, I envision something rich and creamy, so you can imagine my surprise when a thin blue liquid emerged from the tube! This isn't a drawback, it's just not what I imagined the product to be, and it somewhat changes how I use it. While I wouldn't reach for it if I needed a serious dose of calming and hydration - say, after a week of brutal cold weather - I think it's great for more regular usage, kind of like maintenance. My favorite way to use it currently is to apply a slightly thicker layer and work it in gently with my quartz roller; it feels wonderful! While it hasn't dramatically changed my facial redness - I have mild subtype 1 rosacea - it does leave my skin looking soft, plump, and slightly less red.

Great for acne prone skin
This product is everything after an acne inflamed skin. When I break out during my period and I layer this on top of any crazy inflamed spot... it's less red by the end of the day. I've actually just discovered they have this in a cream too with spf, soooo... I'm gonna try that out too. Would definitely recommend.

This is my skin's solace.
I can't put into words how much I love this stuff. Discovered it randomly when dealing with a SEVERE bout of steroid-induced rosacea on my face. (Not exaggerating when I say I've never seen a reaction so bad on anyone ever...my skin went from relatively normal and only occasionally red to looking like raw hamburger meat in about 3 days time.) As my derm was trying to figure it out and gave me strict instructions to use nothing on my skin if at all possible, my face was so irritated and dry and hot that it hurt, sending me on a desperate mission for something EXTREMELY gentle and well-tolerated and soothing. Lo and behold, I found Avene. This and the Tolerance Extreme Cream saved my skin. This is a bit like creamy Vaseline but whereas Vaseline protects in that moment, I felt like this protected AND healed. It's effects seemed to go beyond the time it was on my face. Fast forward two years and I still use this all the time, often as a sleeping mask, letting it absorb all night. Never had a breakout nor negative reaction from it, even when I don't wash it off. Quite literally one of my desert island products. <3

Not for me
I use Avene products on my hands and body, my husband on his face and the whole family when we get sun, so I trust the brand. I developed a sensitivity on my nose and cheeks which got worse when we moved to the mountains; dermatologist RX cream made it worse, so we know it isn't rosacea. I finally bought this mask, expecting relief and a change before the colder months and was disappointed to see that it did nothing for me- it felt ok, the texture is like a creamy petroleum jelly and the smell is ok, but it never got absorbed by my skin and after I rinsed it off my skin was the same- tried again 4 times with rest days in between. Just didn't do anything- not better, not worse. Won't purchase again.
