Avène Akerat Smoothing Exfoliating Cream smoothes and retexturizes extremely dry and rough skin with a synergistic formulation of therapeutic Avène thermal spring water, urea, salicylic acid and lactic acid. This gently moisturizing cream turns unsightly patches of problem skin into uniform, elegant areas. Akerat is perfect for use on knees, palms, heels and other commonly dry spots, including areas suffering from ichtyosis.
Apply Akerat to the affected areas once or twice a day. Do not apply to wounds, irritate or broken skin. Not for use with children under 3 years of age.

Good for KP
I first discovered this cream at a random drug store in France. I bought it because it advertised itself as being for Keratosis-prone skins. (Since I have a rather pronounced case of KP, I'm always on the lookout for good creams.) While I have not yet been able to discover a cure (topical or otherwise) for KP, this cream is quite helpful. There is a marked difference in the general smoothness of my skin and the dreaded "chicken skin" is much less noticeable. Understanding that everyone's skin will react differently to a given product, I would still recommend this product to anyone with KP (or really to anyone who has really dry skin and likes a good thick cream). It's not a miracle cream, but it's the best I've ever found. I intend to keep a ready stockpile of it myself.
