Avène Akerat Smoothing Exfoliating Cream smoothes and retexturizes extremely dry and rough skin with a synergistic formulation of therapeutic Avène thermal spring water, urea, salicylic acid and lactic acid. This gently moisturizing cream turns unsightly patches of problem skin into uniform, elegant areas. Akerat is perfect for use on knees, palms, heels and other commonly dry spots, including areas suffering from ichtyosis.
Apply Akerat to the affected areas once or twice a day. Do not apply to wounds, irritate or broken skin. Not for use with children under 3 years of age.

Love this, but not the price tag
I would give this 5 stars if the price weren't so high. Because of the cost, I would only use it on my legs to help prevent ingrown hairs and it did help. It's thick so I went through it more quickly than I would have liked.

Do you like soft skin?
My problem areas are that I have KP on my arms and dry bumpy skin on my thighs. This is the first lotion that has helped. My skin is so soft after use that I don't mind the stickiness of the lotion and the amount of time it takes to absorb. There's not a scent to the lotion. So I personally wish it had a yummy scent. I will definitely purchase again and would recommend to friends!

Works to soften rough patches
I bought this to use on my feet in hopes of softening rough patches. It works! I keep it on my bedside table and put it on at night, really giving my feet a nice massage. I often follow up with a balm designed for feet (from a local Santa Monica brand, it's got apricot oil and other oils). Next morning, presto! Noticeably softer feet. This doesn't seem to be one of those products you have to use religiously to get results. I found the softening effect noticeable literally overnight. I wouldn't use this as an all-over moisturizer, it's sticky and does require a fair bit of massage and time to absorb. But it's wonderful for softening rough patches. (I used to use the balm on its own, and while it smells wonderful and feels nice going on, the results were zilch.)

Good for your feet
This is sticky to use on your body so I use it on my feet which I am happy with. I give it 3 stars because I noticed there was mineral oil in it so I won't be buying it again.

I use this product on my arms for my KP. I haven't been using it consistently enough to honestly report benefit. But I love that the first ingredient on the list is urea. I just wish that Avene actually disclosed the % of the urea as well as the acids. Probably wouldn't repurchased because of the price but I still have quite a bit left since I only use it on arms.

Struggling to finish the bottle.
This isn't a terrible product but I find nothing enjoyable about it. I'm using this as a foot cream but find the Weleda Skin Food to be more moisturizing and long lasting. Also, the nozzle on my bottle is so tiny that I'm struggling to get product out - thin streams the diameter of a 0.5mm lead pencil. It's an ordeal to sit there and force product out of a more than half full tube and the cap doesn't snap close. The lotion dries sticky.

Effective but...
I think this is a very effective body cream- it absolutely does what it says, I use it for areas that are dry and/or bumpy and it's really helped. I take away a star, however, because I do not personally find it very pleasant to use - the texture leaves me feeling sticky and it it takes a long while to absorb- which makes me less inclined to use it as frequently as I need to maintain results. If this doesn't bother you, I think its a great exfoliating body lotion at a reasonable price!

What a difference Akerat Smoothing Exfoliating Cream makes
I have mature skin which has seen a lot of sun. The skin on my lower legs was getting so dry and lined and just unattractive to look at. The difference is remarkable, the crepey lines are diminished and the skin texture is smooth looking again. I'm very pleased with the results. The cream itself has a pleasant texture and is very easily applied and not too heavy.
