2. Refund Process When Using a Gift Card for Payment
- If a purchase was made using a combination of a gift card and another payment method (e.g., credit/debit card), any refund requested will first be applied to the gift card balance before refunding the other payment method.
- The refund breakdown will follow this hierarchy:
- The refunded amount will be credited to the original gift card balance first; refunded as account credits to your site account.
- Any remaining eligible refund amount will be credited to the secondary payment method used during the purchase.
3. Example Refund Scenarios
- Scenario 1: A customer purchases items worth $50, paying $30 using a gift card (GC) and $20 via a credit/debit card (AC).
- If a partial refund of $30 is requested, the full amount will be refunded to the gift card.
- If a partial refund of $25 is requested, the full amount will be refunded to the gift card.
- If a full refund of $50 is requested, the first $30 will be refunded to the gift card, and the remaining $20 will be refunded to the credit/debit card.
4. Credit to Account for Gift Card Refunds
- Any refunded amount to a gift card will be credited as account credits linked to the email ID used for the original order.
- Account credits can only be used for future purchases on the platform and cannot be withdrawn or transferred.
