Forehead Wart

Q Hi, I think I have a wart on my forehead. I'm not certain, but I have a strong suspicion. I'm positive it isn't acne, and it feels very much like warts I've had on my feet when I was younger. I am also fairly certain its not a "flat wart". I've looked at pictures, and read lightly about them, and this is different. I do not have a history of warts, and aside from two on my right foot several years ago, have never had one. I do not have any STD's or genital warts either. I am curious about a few things: 1. Can I have a wart on my forehead? I've never heard of something like this. 2. Why on earth would I have a wart on my forehead anyway? It doesn't experience any pressure or friction, and rarely has any open cuts or sores on it. 3. And lastly, is there a way I can cure this quickly?? It looks odd and bad, not surprisingly. Thanks so much
A

Warts are caused by a viral infection, a virus called human papillomavirus (HPV), if you have had them before chances are you'll get one again because you carry this virus. It is possible for a wart to form on the forehead, generally a common wart or filiform wart will form on the face, however it is less common for a common wart to be found on the face. The wart on the forehead, if it is in fact a wart, is likely caused because you are more susceptible to the virus that causes warts. Before you go ahead and try and treat it I would have it examined by a dermatologist to confirm that it is a wart. It would not be safe to treat this area, without a proper diagnosis, as you may only exasperate the problem. Please contact me with any further questions. Best skin care wishes.
